I don't know about you but I find that this has become my quest and my greatest desire to know that I am being prepared to ride with Christ the Captain of my Salvation. These days, this is my sole quest and my greatest ambition.

This little book called “the Soldiers of the King” which is about learning to put on the Armour of God so we can learn to recognize and use the weapons of victory provided by God for our use. We need to use them on a daily basis to practice the presence of God as we hide and fight the invisible enemy, in Him, not outside of Him.

It is with humility that I share with you, He brought this book to my attention because He intended to use me as an instrument to edit it and put it where other Christians can find it and view it also as a call from Him to come up closer and higher. It is an invitation to understand, study and examine ourselves as we respond to His invitation to come and be trained to ride with Him. It is my hope after you read this book, you will feel the need to dedicate yourself to Him and join me in this quest. It is my hope that one day I will meet with you as we ride side by side and God will give us the understanding to see that we met through this little book. If through this little book only one person makes the decision to answer the call to learn to live purposely for His sake and be trained by Him for that Majestic day, then there will be joy and tears in heaven for one more recruit in the Army of the Lord. Whoever you are, wherever you are, may God bless and keep you.

Charles Spurgeon wrote it in such a poetic way when he said: " And these that follow him, you notice, are all mounted. They followed him on white horses. They are mounted on the same sort of horses as himself, for they fare as he fares: when he walks, they must walk; when he bears a cross, they must carry crosses, too; but if ever he gets a crown, he cries, “They shall be crowned, too.” If ever he gets on horseback, he will have his saints on horseback with him, for it is not like him that he should ride and they should walk. Remember Alexander, and how he kept up the spirit of his soldiers. Whenever the troops were thirsty, Alexander would not drink; and when they marched on foot, Alexander footed it with them. So is it with our Master— he has been marching here in the rough ways with us, and he will let us ride in the glory-ways with him when the time shall come.
